Terms of Service

last updated: July 2026

These terms explain what to expect from devnotes, especially around the paid membership. By using this site or subscribing to the membership, you agree to these terms.

What devnotes is

devnotes is an independent, self-published educational site. Free lessons and articles are available to anyone. Some lessons and courses are reserved for paying members. Content is added progressively — devnotes is an ongoing project, not a finished, fixed catalog at the time you subscribe.

Membership billing

Cancellation

You can cancel your membership at any time, with no minimum commitment. To cancel, use the "Manage subscription" link included in your Gumroad purchase receipt email, or log into your Gumroad account and cancel from your library. Cancelling stops future charges — you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

Refunds

refund policy
Because membership content is delivered immediately upon payment, we generally do not offer refunds for partial months already billed. If you believe you were charged in error, or a technical issue prevented you from accessing paid content, contact us within 7 days of the charge and we'll review it in good faith.

Acceptable use

Lessons, articles, and any paid course material are for your personal, non-commercial learning use. You may not resell, redistribute, or republish devnotes content elsewhere without permission.

No guarantees

devnotes provides educational content "as is." We don't guarantee specific learning outcomes, job results, or that content will be free of errors. Code examples are for learning purposes — review and test anything before using it in a real project.

Changes to the service or these terms

We may update lessons, pricing for new subscribers, or these terms over time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continuing to use the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
